In 2017, Lasarus made his American feature film debut in Rupert Sanders’ Ghost in the Shell, a Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks sci-fi thriller starring opposite Scarlett Johansson, Juliette Binoche, Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt, Chin Han and Pilou Asbæk. He is most recently known for his portrayal of Ishikawa, a member of Section 9 in the DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures feature film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell released in cinemas worldwide March 2017.
Graduating from The Performing Arts Conservatory in 2012, Lasarus graced Australian screens in the world war epic The Digger, then made his American television debut in Steven Spielberg‘s and 20th Century Fox’s sci-fi Terra Nova. He progressed on as Malcolm Mabo in the social and politically motivated biopic drama Mabo, co-starred in the Australian comedy feature film The Mule opposite Leigh Whannell, and starred as a lead character in the award winning series Ready For This. He will also be seen as a series regular in the hugely anticipated season two of Goalpost Pictures Cleverman and HBO’s mystery drama The Leftovers.
Lasarus Ratuere (born 30 June 1985) is an Australian actor with part Fijian heritage. Born in Adelaide, Lasarus grew up in Brisbane, Australia. Lasarus graduated from The Performing Arts Conservatory, Brisbane, with his Advanced Diploma of Screen and Stage Acting (2014) and in 2016 was awarded the John Dommett Award Won: Outstanding Industry Achievement.
